Rather than bring you into the studio, I know that I can capture you at your best when you are in familiar surroundings. My studio is completely portable. Nature provides the backgrounds and props. Nothing is fake. See for yourself what a tremendous difference this makes in getting the absolute best portraits possible!

Since I don't have the overhead of a brick & mortar studio, I can offer my services at a substantial savings over other photographers in the area and I can give you a higher level of personal attention.

Other photographers in the area charge a premium for photo retouching. I don't. Every image is enhanced in PhotoShop to insure that every print is picture perfect! I use a state-of-the-art all digital workflow that starts with a 21 megapixel digital negative taken with the Canon 5D II that can produce stunning portraits at prints as large as 20 x 30 inches! I work in a color-managed environment so what I see on my computer monitor is what I get in print from my professional printing lab. Prints are 100 year archival quality prints. This is the state-of-the-art!

My approach to senior portraits is a little different. My goal is to assemble a folio of photos that truly capture your unique personality and interests. If you are into sports, I might suggest taking a few shots of you in your sports attire. If you are into fishing, we can do that too. Do you have a special place, a favorite piece of clothing, a boyfriend or girlfriend? We can include that too.

To me, the senior folio can be more than photos ~ with a little planning and effort ~ it can be a time capsule ~ a permanent memoir of a very special time in your life ~ your senior year!

My standard senior folio consists of eight 4x5's of your choice in a leather bound presentation folio.

The images below were my first attempt at doing cap & gown portraits for some of the graduating seniors at Lafayette Christian School. In all I am pleased with the results but learned a few tricks and plan to do something a little different with my next try.

Each senior was given a 5x7 print in a presentation folder as a gift for their willingness to pose for me. A few of the seniors placed orders for reprints.

These are an example of "studio" shots captured entirely on location using my portable studio equipment. The background, believe it or not, is an off-white concrete-block wall! By putting a flash on the wall, I was able to turn it pure white, then added a colorful background in PhotoShop to match the colors in the Diploma Jacket.

Every wedding is a unique event ~ from upscale church weddings to small, intimate ceremonies. No matter the size or venue, all weddings have one common denominator ~ the lives of those involved will be forever transformed by the event.

My approach to wedding photography is to document the event in such a way that my images tell the story.

To accomplish this, I try to capture as many candid shots as possible. The focus is on the bride and groom and the wedding party, but I also try to include the invited guests as well.

I am always glad to shoot posed group shots, but try to keep this to a minimum ~ preferring instead to capture the more spontaneous interactions throughout the event.

In the end, it is these spontaneous moments that are most cherished and truly tell the unique wedding story.

The Photoshop and LightRoom Workshop Series at Callaway Gardens has been

an amazing success. Successful digital photographers must be proficient in producing quality output from their digital image files. Adobe's PhotoShop Elements and PhotoShop Creative Suite are the two most popular software applications for this purpose. PhotoShop BootCamp is a two-day workshop designed for the absolute beginner. A second PhotoShop course is offered once a year that deals with more complex and advanced concepts and techniques. Laptops are welcome, as you work along with the instructor to master this amazing software application.

Adobe's LightRoom is an amazing software application designed from the ground up specifically for digital photographers. It is an awesome RAW file converter and image database management solution for the serious photographer. This introductory course was designed for the learning needs of beginners. Laptops are welcome.
